A highlight of my Yosemite winters are my annual backcountry ski trips to the Ostrander Ski Hut. The hut is located on the edge of a lake ten miles in from the Badger Pass Ski Resort. Some of my most memorable trips have been in the middle of intense winter storms. During these adventures, the the lighting is never boring and the ski conditions can be excellent. When condition degrade to full white out, the skiier can return to the hut for hot drinks, delicious food, and excellent company.
