Good images are made more through good technique and the photographer’s vision rather than by gear alone. My most important piece of equipment is my sturdy tripod and ball head. I began making my images using Nikon 35mm cameras. I soon started using medium format film using a Mamiya C220 TLR and later a Bronica SQa. I also use a horseman 6x9 VHR field camera that gives me larger transparencies and the advantage of lens movements that change the perspective of the image. I have recently added a Nikon D300 12 megapixel digital SLR. Most of my images have been made with fine grain transparency film (mostly Fuji Velvia or Velvia 100f) and scanned using a Minolta Multi Pro film scanner. My prints are made using archival pigment inks from an Epson 4800 photo printer. I print using color profiles made by Bill Atkinson mostly on Ilford Galerie Smooth Pearl paper. |
